For Country Kitchen, the most valuable help you can provide is NOW rather than on the festival day.  We need anyone with a kitchen to have a go at making jams, relishes and pickles.  No experience is necessary - easy to follow instructions, all ingredients and clean jars will be provided in a kit ready for you to spend an hour or two at home making one of our famous recipes.  It's a great opportunity to learn something new and YOU get to taste the first samples!

Click through to our volunteer sign up page to register your details for making your preferred recipe:

Kits will be ready for collection on Friday 24 August.  from one of these locations:

turning circle (morning and afternoon)
on the oval during the junior athletics carnival
Helping Hands after school care (by prior arrangement)
or contact Cal to arrange a special pickup.

All kits must be collected on Friday as the fresh produce won't keep!

If you have your own special favourite recipe - please feel free to make up a batch and deliver it to the undercroft next week.  All donations are very welcome and if you'd like to share the recipe for next years stall, we'd be thrilled to include it!

Kits of filled jars can be returned to the undercroft the following week to be cleaned, dressed and labelled ready for the stall.

We cannot thank our volunteers enough for the efforts that go into making these kits.  Many hands make light work and everyone's contributions are so very much appreciated.

Country Kitchen needs clean, label free jars for 2018.  Clean and save your jars ready for next year's fete.  Labels and glue residue must be removed to make it easy for our volunteers to put kits together.

Sparkling clean jars can dropped to the undercroft during school hours.
little jars are great for lemon butter... 50-100g size
lots of medium size Jars 200/300g size
pasta size 400g size for relishes

To remove labels from jars:
before wetting the label, fill the jar with boiling hot water and allow to stand, the heat will transfer through the jar and loosen the glue making the label easy to peel off.
alternatively, soak overnight in water and use a pot scourer if necessary.
to remove residual glue, use eucalyptus oil with a scourer for additional zing if required.

Have a favourite recipe you can make and donate to Country Kitchen? Fabulous!! Please deliver to Cal's car port at 6 Rustic Street.

Share your awesome recipes so that we can add new products to our 2018 stall repetoire.  We'd love some tried and true recipes for Thermomix users as well!

All kits come with full instructions, ingredients and are suitable for novice and expert chefs alike.

A huge THANK YOU to all who are able to help.

The Country Kitchen stall only functions because of your generosity of time and willingness to give it a go.

Send in photos of your cooking exploits to the chssspringfete@gmail.com so we can publish your awesome efforts on the website.  We'd love to share your culinary activities and just think how proud your kids will be to see their pic online and produce for sale.
